This page started with Peerless Water Colors, Gesso & Neo Color II Crayons . Next came Water colored Cut out Heart, Ribbon with Grommets, and Tags. I added a few stamps and some doodles:)

We are blessed beyond measure with the generosity of my Mother & Father in law, who take the whole Carroll Clan (16 in all) on a BIG Family trip every other year.  It’s been one of the greatest highlights in our family’s lives and so when we travel,I love to search for a special treasure to remember our trip.

On this trip, as I was purusing an antique store in Cairo

     (American antiques are hundreds of years old…Egypt’s are thousands!)

I found this beautifully carved Coptic Cross.

(It isn’t thousands of years old…just a replica)

But I loved it just the same.

I knew that I wanted to display it, but I didn’t just want to “nail it to the wall.”

SO…I found this great shadow box at Pottery Barn. (cute pins included)

There were just the same amount of holes in the cross…perfect for pining!

RIBBON!!!

IMG_7942So, I found a beautiful neutral ribbon in my stash, wrote a “sentiment” on Kraft Card Stock, and cut it out.

I burned the edges of the cards stock a bit with a lighter to add that “vintage” feel.

*I also burn the edges of my ribbon to prevent fraying
