HELLO! I have to share this VERY SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY WITH YOU! I have been workin on a project that is moving towards a larger production. As we work on the final puzzle project, we NEED YOUR HELP! FOR A SHORT TIME ONLY, PIECES OF THE…
June with Annabelle June…a photo block tutorial It all started with some doodles using Copic alcohol markers and Faber Castell multi liners. All Doodles pieces were cut out and ready to add to the Wood Block. This is a Wood block purchased from Michaels. ( 7″…
As a parent and Children’s Ministry worker, I seek advice from the best parenting book there is…The Bible:) Deuteronomy 6 is full of encouragement and wisdom…This was the inspiration for this mini canvas.
I started with a plain mini canvas sold in a pack of 6 at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
I used modeling paste and a stencil to create the “diamond” background.
Next, I added color with both Distress Paint (“peeled paint”) & a similar shade in a Pan Pastel…finished with Distress ink pad in walnut stain.
I used the same walnut stain to color the mini clothes pins.
I cut the charm background out of a vintage Bible Story Book for Children, sealed with Glossy Accents by Ranger.
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love theLord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
Annabelle is loving her letters. (See original post here) I started out by mailing her a small candy treat with each letter…(That’s what Mimi’s are for, right?) Well, I guess I knew she might like the treat best…and yes, she did:) So, now I am…
I am a Mother of 4…3 have already left the nest, so I can say with experience that there have been many parenting moments when I felt frustrated, lacking wisdom, lacking patience and feeling helpless. We all have those days…especially during the ages of 13-21:)
I have also been involved with Children’s Ministry for over 20 years, and I have seen first hand the life change that happens through earnest prayer.
When my kids were still young, I learned from a Mother further down the road the importance of surrendering first myself and then my kids (which are really God’s kids) to the One who made us…He knows best…He designed our prototypes. She also taught me that I should start praying for them daily as well as praying for specific Mentors in their lives that they could trust for Godly wisdom and friendship. Our kids need to hear what we are teaching them from someone else…A second voice speaking the same truths.
A good friend gave me this book, and it became a great source of comfort and guidance to me. I highly recommend it for all parents. When we pray God’s will, He will answer.
1 John 5:14
“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”
When your adopted “niece” gets into Harvard, you should do something special! I wanted to create a framed piece she could take with her to school….Something that would make her smile…something that would remind her not only of who she is, but of “WHOSE” she…
I meet weekly with High School girls to do Bible Study, Crafts, and Baking. I want to provide a safe place for girls to talk, encourage one another and hear truth in love…
This week I have an amazingly talented and disciplined group from a local gymnastics team. They are putting together scrapbooks for the graduating seniors. It has been such fun to hear about life as a gymnast:)
The girls joke around about how they all have animal print “leo’s” (leotards) so naturally they chose animal print papers.
I had the girls cut out “Base Cards” that measure 5 1/2″ X 7 1/4 “
Printed paper taped on top that measures 4 1/2″ X 6 1/2″
(allowing room for ring holes)
Rings were purchased at Staples.
Each printed Rectangle is ready for a team snapshot.
We will be adding cute little pockets on some of the pages for team members to write & insert encouraging notes.
I am so blessed to have the time to “craft” with young girls. It provides such a fun and interactive vehicle for me to make a difference in the lives of girls who can get so easily discouraged by the culture and the fast times we live in…
We’re running out of ribbon, so I think I’ll get some fresh ideas from
