We are blessed beyond measure with the generosity of my Mother & Father in law, who take the whole Carroll Clan (16 in all) on a BIG Family trip every other year. It’s been one of the greatest highlights in our family’s lives and so when we travel,I love to search for a special treasure to remember our trip.

Egypt
On this trip, as I was purusing an antique store in Cairo
(American antiques are hundreds of years old…Egypt’s are thousands!)
I found this beautifully carved Coptic Cross.
(It isn’t thousands of years old…just a replica)

But I loved it just the same.
I knew that I wanted to display it, but I didn’t just want to “nail it to the wall.”
SO…I found this great shadow box at Pottery Barn. (cute pins included)

This is a rustic version from Pottery Barn’s online website (click on the pic to see it yourself)
There were just the same amount of holes in the cross…perfect for pining!
But, it still needed something…
RIBBON!!!
So, I found a beautiful neutral ribbon in my stash, wrote a “sentiment” on Kraft Card Stock, and cut it out.
I burned the edges of the cards stock a bit with a lighter to add that “vintage” feel.
*I also burn the edges of my ribbon to prevent fraying

Don’t forget to check out May Arts for the perfect ribbon to enhance your treasure!
