Living an ART filled life...“Creativity is a God-given ability to take something ordinary and make it into something special. It is an openness to doing old things new ways…The creative spirit is part of our heritage as children of the One who created all things. And nurturing our creativity is part of our responsibility as stewards of God’s good gifts.” - Emilie Barnes, The Spirit of Loveline

Hello all!

I pray this post finds you in close company with the Lord today.

I had a sweet “cyber-friend” and Sister in Christ, (Sandy ❤️) share with me, the scripture below:

2 Corinthians 2:14-15 (ESV)

14 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,

Sandy wanted to know if I had a Doodle 101 for a perfume bottle to illustrate this beautiful passage. I couldn’t wait to dig into this truth and “see it” in an illustration that would be a constant remainder of the “scent” I COULD and SHOULD leave with others.

I so want to spread the sweet aroma of Christ and not a stinky one that can come from remaining apart from Him in some dark, damp place!

(like my daughter’s old soccer goalie gloves left in the trunk! (Ewwwww!!!)

Some of the symptoms that “arise” from a stinky growth result in an unpleasant smell that can look like this:

-lacking patience with those I love who are closest to me…leaving the aroma of anger, bitterness, & resentment.

-dwelling on the things I “feel ” I’m lacking…leaving the aroma of selfishness or self loathing creating isolation.

-allowing my “feelings” and emotions to rule my day…leaving the scent of selfishness and pride.

ick.

Only when I am intentional about dwelling with the Lord each day…purposeful in actively abiding, will I develop the sweet scent of life that will extend and “pour over”  others.

Sandy, thank you for giving me such a wonderful inspiration of truth today! Hope you like this little Doodle!!

I was especially drawn to the  wording found in The Message for these verses.

Let’s leave a sweet scent behind us!

In Him,
