Day 11 / John Study / She Reads Truth
HE HEALS THE BLIND
I want to shout it from the rooftops…my heart was broken and now it is healed, my eyes could not see, and now they’re wide open..
Amazing Grace saved this wretch.
And you know, Blindness is a condition we were all born with…our sin distorts our vision and causes us to stumble around in the dark.
and sometimes, just like the Pharisees, even in the light, we choose darkness.
I’ve been there… and even though it was an icky place to live, I am glad that I have a better understanding of the light! It all about the ABC’S.
Admit we are sinners. We aren’t perfect like our Savior. We make mistakes.
Believe that Jesus came to save us from the darkness. To unite us with our God.
Choose to accept what He has sacrificed for us. Choose to agree that we NEED a Savior…Choose to walk with Him…Abide in Him…and proclaim His Glory.
There was a time when I didn’t know what it meant to abide. I could admit I was a sinner, Believe that Jesus came to restore me, and even choose to accept that I had NEED…but the daily walking with Him…the daily talking with HIm and about Him, was something I just didn’t get. I didn’t even hear it in the churches I attended.
But, I did hear it when a Sister, who didn’t even know me, invited me to Bible Study, and I then SAW abiding…through other women who came alongside me…took my hand and led the way.
It’s not until we get deep down and personal with our Lord that we can see who He is and who He has made us to be. How can we really know anyone without spending time with them, without listening to their hearts, without “doing life” together?
I’m probably preaching to the choir here, but if you’re anything like me, you need to be reminded daily…Who you are and WHO YOUR GREAT GOD IS 🙂
I love what the blind man said when others denounced Jesus…
25 He answered, “Whether he is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”
When we experience God’s presence in our lives, we learn to trust who He is…Each time you step out in obedience, God reveals Himself to you. He opens your eyes to see beyond the dark, to the hope that is just around the corner.
This is how our hearts learn the depth of His love.
As Erin said…
“Friends, the gospel is not a treasure to be hoarded. The call on each of our lives is to shout it from every rooftop, whisper it in every coffee shop, declare it to every fellow sinner” (Matthew 28:16-20)
What a treasure His love is…it is a precious bounty that we can give away and gain more!
Do you know anything else that gives back more than you give away?
What a Good God we serve!!!
I AM SO GRATEFUL, that the Lord heals the blind.
Thank you for this good Word today Lord.
