My journaling Doodle from Day 3 of
(SHEREADSTRUTH-FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT STUDY)
Art journaling can be a great process of “being still.” I like to put on worship music and “steep” in the scripture…listening for the Holy Spirit as He quiets the “noise” in my head…teaching me things I do not know…as I draw and color. I hope that my little doodles are an aid in that process for you…giving you a “starting point”…as you create your own very personal rememberance of the place where God met with you.
Blessings,
Dear Sue,I have been following your postings for a while and reallyenjoy them and I am challenged by them. But I need to talk to someone about something that is troubling me. So often I read different Christian’s testimonies about thegreat things that God is doing in their lives and while I can site similarthings in my life and am grateful for the things He has done for my husband andI, I don’t feel like I have the same joy as some that I read about.
I have shared this issue with pastors and others in thefaith and am usually told that since I am concerned about it that in itselfshows that I have a love for God and that I am His. While I understand thatthat may be true and I know that I shouldn’t go on feelings, I really desire aconnection to God that I see in other’s lives. I see that in your postings also.
That connection seems so effortless for you. My logical mind says it probably isn’t but Ido struggle with comparing my walk to others.
I struggle with getting into God’s word daily and prayer andthat makes me wonder if my faith is real. Shouldn’t it be something that I thirst after? Do I let the struggles of daily living takeaway that time and connection?
I guess I identify with you more that most because of yourcreativity. I was an art teacher in a ChristianSchool for 9 years in NJ and have since moved to Florida where I gotmarried. I love being creative butstruggle with making the time for that too. Your posts always seem so authentic to me… real. They really resonate with me and I want tohave that connection. Well that is it…. Just want to touch base with you. Thanks for listening,Lauren
